POS & Payments

Most POS failures are network failures wearing a POS costume.

We own the layer your point of sale depends on — the circuit, the failover, the switching, the payment VLAN, and the cabling — so opening night is boring. For the terminals and the merchant account themselves we bring in a specialist payments partner rather than pretending to be one, because that is a different channel with different economics and you deserve someone who lives in it.

  • 40–80bps typical processing margin recovered on re-shop
  • <60 sec failover to LTE when the primary circuit drops
  • 1 stack standardized across every location you open

Sound familiar?

What we keep walking into

If any of these describe your situation, the fix is usually cheaper and faster than you have been told.

Terminals drop mid-service because the POS shares a consumer-grade circuit with guest Wi-Fi.

Processing rates were never re-shopped after year one and are quietly eating 40–80bps of margin.

Every location runs a different stack, so support is a phone tree and reporting is a spreadsheet.

PCI scope is undefined — nobody segmented the payment VLAN from the back office.

What you get

Scoped properly, priced across the market, managed to go-live.

  • POS platform selection matched to your vertical — restaurant, retail, multi-unit, quick service, or service counter.
  • Merchant processing re-shopped against the current effective rate, with the interchange breakdown shown to you.
  • Payment VLAN segmentation and PCI scoping so your audit surface stays small.
  • Redundant connectivity — primary fiber with LTE/5G failover so card capture never stops.
  • Cabling, switching, and terminal placement designed with the floor plan, not after it.

Questions

Before you ask us

Do you sell POS hardware directly?

No, and we would rather tell you that than fudge it. Point of sale and merchant processing sit in a different distribution channel from technology advisory. We bring in a vetted payments specialist for the terminals and the merchant account, and we keep the connectivity, failover, network segmentation and cabling — which is where most POS deployments actually go wrong.

Is it worth switching POS platforms at all?

Often no. Proprietary hardware with no resale value, early termination fees, and bundled processing you cannot unbundle mean the switching cost is real. Where it clearly pays is a brand new location with no incumbent to displace. We will do that arithmetic with you honestly, including the case for staying put.

Can you take over an existing POS deployment?

Yes. The most common engagement is an audit of a live estate: what you are paying, what your effective rate is, where the network is under-built, and what it would cost to standardize. That audit is free.

What about PCI compliance?

We scope it up front. Payment traffic gets its own segmented VLAN, and we document the boundary so your assessor has a clean answer instead of a guess.

Three questions. Forty-eight hours. No cost.

You will not get a generic brochure back. You will get the providers who actually serve your address, priced side by side, with install intervals and any construction cost disclosed up front.

What do you need?

Pick everything that applies.

Where, and how big?

This is what lets us check which carriers actually reach you.

A full address gets you a serviceability answer instead of a range.

How many locations?
When do you need it live?
Where do we send it?

One person reads this. No list, no drip, no sales floor.
